Let me tell you about how excited I was to be Sailor Jupiter.  I’m pretty sure I was non-stop smiling the entire time in costume!

18k gold with a carved agate skull surrounded by rose- and old-cut diamonds and black enamelling, with hallmarks for London 1852.  It has an interior inscription on the ring that adds another fascinating layer of history: Inscribed “James Dixon Obit 1852,” it memorialises James Dixon, a well-known English silversmith and founder of the family firm of James Dixon & Sons.

How to use your white privilege

If the “passing privilege” person is looking at this blog, this is one thing you can do, if you’re up to it.

Reblogging for excellence.

important words everyone should hear and live by

This has happened to my dad before several times just when I was with him. It’s one of the most uncomfortable experiences ever, especially because you know that what they’re doing is wrong, but nobody else seems to care. Usually the people behind us would get impatient or upset when he would challenge this type of racial profiling. You could tell by their expressions that they would take on this attitude “what’s the big deal? Just do what they say. If you don’t have anything to worry about then why’s it such a big deal?” They wouldn’t say anything, but I could tell just by the looks on their faces.

I’ve also experienced the same lack of conversation before. It usually isn’t as drastic as it was in the video, but I can safely say that I’ve had clerics become substantially quieter and less interested after I showed up.

Plus, every time a have to buy something more expensive, I’m hoping somebody won’t pull this on me.

So if you see this happening to somebody, please do something about it.
